Gloria Gaynor, the legendary voice behind the anthemic song “I Will Survive,” is still a major fan of R&B music. Not giving up on the genre or her ability to tour and perform, years after winning a Grammy for “I Will Survive,” Gaynor is in love with chart-topping acts like Alicia Keys, Adele and as of late, Beyonce.

“I’m listening to rhythm and blues, some dance music, and lots of gospel music. I still love a variety of kinds of music. I like Beyonce. I think my all-time favorite song of hers is ‘Single Ladies.’ I also love Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, and Adele,” Gaynor shared with Parade recently.

While Gaynor is a veteran in this music industry, she has no plans to retire anytime soon. In fact, she is still touring.

“When I’m on stage, all is right with the world. I think the energy comes from the audience. The better your audience, the more energy you have, and the more energy you have, the better show you do,” says Gaynor. “The better show you do, the more they love it, and the more energy they give back to you. So it’s like a back and forth exchange between you and your audience, and I think that’s where my stamina comes from.”

The disco era may be over, but its queen—and her biggest hit—certainly aren’t. Today, Gloria Gaynor‘s “I Will Survive” boasts nearly 25 million hits on YouTube and has inspired scores of other artists, from Diana Ross to Cake, to record their own versions of the song. Gaynor, 63, couldn’t be happier about the longevity of her song, which recently passed its 30th anniversary. “It’s great to know that I’m having this positive impact on people of all ages,” she says. “It’s a wonderful privilege.”

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) August 09, 2012

promarkMusic announces the release of the long anticipated new single “All The Man That I Need” from Grammy winner Gloria Gaynor who gave the world the anthem of all anthems, “I Will Survive.” promarkMusic President and CEO, David Levine, said “This song was originally recorded several years ago under the Logic Records/BMG label.” Levine added, “This is a new version of a favorite song of Gloria’s from the album she recorded in 2002 for Logic Records/BMG album, ‘I Wish You Love.’” This album garnered four consecutive #1 Hits on the Billboard Dance Charts along with a Top 10 Radio Hit on Billboard’s Hot A.C. Charts.

When asked about this recording, Miss Gaynor has said, “I am delighted about this new version of ‘All The Man That I Need.’ Logic Records folded shortly after the release of my 2002 album. That album was comprised of so many wonderful songs that did not get a chance due to Logic Records shutting it’s doors. This particular song was one of my personal favorites because the words are so powerful and meaningful.”

Levine went on to say, “This new version of ‘All The Man That I Need” was re-recorded under the supervision of Miss Gaynor’s New York based musical director, Mark Baron. promarkMusic enlisted several of its international producers/re-mixers from key points around the globe where club music finds its pulse. The result is a package of incredibly powerful club and radio mixes which spotlight the strength and power of Gaynor’s distinctive vocal quality along with the indelible message of this song’s lyrics.

promarkMusic will monitor DJ response with data provided by ZipDJ of Vancouver in order to cross this song over to Top 40, Hot A.C. and Rhythm radio in the U.S. and Canada.

Levine said, “We believe in this song. The lyrical content is ripe for the female listeners of any generation to embrace and relate to and share with their girlfriends. These lyrics are indicative of Gloria’s signature style and the songs that she chooses to record. These facts coupled with the brand identity of the legendary Gloria Gaynor and the recognition and power of her voice, will bring new found fans and success to this new single.

“All The Man That I Need” will be released digitally with a marketing music campaign to include television with future plans to release a full album for retail stores across the country under the promarkMusic banner.

The residents of a city transitional living facility enjoyed a visit from a special guest Tuesday: legendary disco diva — and Newark native — Gloria Gaynor. “I am just overwhelmed by what you’re doing here,” the “I Will Survive” singer said to a group of parents gathered at the New Community Corporation’s Harmony House on South Orange Avenue. Harmony House provides more than 100 units of housing to parents and children as well as services to help those families eventually obtain their own homes. Harmony House is part of a village-style complex that includes a Pathmark supermarket and other facilities located near University Hospital. During her visit, Gaynor met with staff and clients, including single and about-to-wed mothers and fathers and their young children. The clients and their kids lined up for autographed copies of “Christmas Presence,” a CD of holiday music. Gaynor, who said she hopes to start a foundation to help families stay intact,  said she came to New Community to learn. The product of a single-parent household, Gaynor spoke about the importance of keeping families intact. “I understand where these young people are coming from, she said, adding that she believed in the importance of “bringing mothers and fathers together, or at least having the fathers in their children’s lives.” http://newarknj.patch.com/articles/gloria-gaynor-visits-newark-homeless-facilty
